Kyle Sweeney (SWNZ) grew up during the height of the skateboarding “Golden Era” and emo/post-hardcore music of the early 2000s. He played violin for a short time but was gifted with a fender telecaster for his 11th birthday, which consequently took all of his attention. During his teen years, he played in various ska/reggae/punk/alternative bands. In college at SDSU, while partying late night with his fraternity roommates, he discovered he may have a knack for singing after playing a smooth R&B cover of "Fuckin' Problems" by A$AP Rocky on his baby Taylor acoustic guitar. Continuing to play guitar and sing as years went by, both as a solo artist and in a local rock cover band, he felt called to bring the sounds that were revolving around in his mind into reality, thus learning how to produce EDM in Ableton to materialize these abiding melodies. This was expedited by the sudden passing of his mom who suffered 2 months of stage 4 brain cancer. Corporate America laid him off a month later, after having had a decade-long, respectable career as a tech sales leader. Things continued to snowball. Soon enough, he lost everything. Heavily influenced by soulful sounds and emotional foundations, he aims to bring a new perspective to house/EDM by sharing his testimony of betrayal, overcoming adversity, narcissistic abuse, and the dark night of the soul. Yes, that was me writing my own bio in third person 😂 Conquering spiritual warfare through melodic and contemplative frequencies.
