SY

SY Is an artist who was raised in a small town in the south of the Netherlands by a dutch mother and a Ghanian/English father. The car rides with his mother used to consist of <a href="spotify:artist:3q7HBObVc0L8jNeTe5Gofh" data-name="50 Cent">50 Cent</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0TnOYISbd1XYRBk9myaseg" data-name="Pitbull">Pitbull</a>, whereas his dad couldn’t get enough of <a href="spotify:artist:2QsynagSdAqZj3U9HgDzjD" data-name="Bob Marley &amp; The Wailers">Bob Marley &amp; The Wailers</a>. SY still has loads of family in West-London and visits often. The London music culture has heavily influenced his teenage years, with <a href="spotify:artist:6Ip8FS7vWT1uKkJSweANQK" data-name="Dave">Dave</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2SrSdSvpminqmStGELCSNd" data-name="Stormzy">Stormzy</a> and many more UK artists being mainstays in his playlists. This music culture has also influenced his own music when he started rapping. SY released his first single <a href="spotify:album:13JYu3FagYHCykz7wRlFrj" data-name="Alonso">Alonso</a>, on the 18th of December 2020.

After releasing Alonso, SY swiftly headed back into the studio and recorded <a href="spotify:track:4f21dBuJ1QqhCHxCeTjEZP" data-name="Rolo">Rolo</a> which released on the 5th of March the next year. Both Alonso and Rolo were part of <a href="spotify:album:1w4MukK5in3hZdUo6bJxW8" data-name="Pre-Season">Pre-Season</a> the EP, which released roughly a month later with an additional 3 tracks. <a href="spotify:track:1fWXjLPQ7F4nMn8LY1h0Zi" data-name="Angles">Angles</a>, where SY explains his early dilemma when starting his rap career. <a href="spotify:track:2KpLDaDB4xeTkaL3gPASYt" data-name="Make it Happen">Make it Happen</a>, where SY outlies his plans to literally make it happen. And lastly <a href="spotify:track:1034MdAwCddGeOxFbuwp8q" data-name="Cry Me a River Freestyle">Cry Me a River Freestyle</a> which landed some positive reviews on SY’s instagram which prompted him to make a studio version. SY also worked together with <a href="spotify:artist:5WBIGEGJvX8ZEPSet5WXFj" data-name="Luka Bloom">Luka Bloom</a> &amp; <a href="spotify:artist:2ZRDlxTCNK3RV3zLRMmal3" data-name="Tommy AML">Tommy AML</a> as well as his favoured producer <a href="spotify:artist:7uHeXV1wYoetq6Ko7YLGIY" data-name="Akra">Akra</a> to create <a href="spotify:track:0brwwiveVoYn84G47iRqxD" data-name="They Don&#39;t Like">They Don&#39;t Like</a> which also has a youtube video available for viewing.

After these releases SY went quiet for a while, but he returned in November 2022, when he dropped <a href="spotify:track:3jcO89WPHRXbeZRGlxxU0s" data-name="Stages">Stages</a>. Stages is the first single part of his new EP which is OTW!
