Syra

Originally from Avignon (France), Syra began her musical journey in jazz and soul, where she developed a unique and expressive voice. In 2017, her encounter with the producer Handyman marked a turning point in her career as she transitioned to reggae dub and began writing powerful and introspective lyrics.
Drawing inspiration from genres such as rocksteady, roots, and UK dub, she crafts a distinctive style that blends engagement and spirituality.

An active member of the HFD Records collective, Syra has contributed to major projects like the Soul Meeting EP with Handyman and the Uprising album. She also lends her voice to exclusive dubplates for the label and lights up sound system events across France and Europe, performing on prestigious stages such as Reggae Jam (DE) and Dub Camp (FR). Her collaborations with producers and labels like ODG, Dub Dealing, Digital Power Sound, Culture Dub, and many others highlight her versatility and talent in enriching every musical project.
