The band Szaturma was founded between the Czech and the Slovak borders in 2017. It offers an unusual instrumentation (guitar /Štefan Szabó/, saxophones /Michaela Turcerová/ and drums /Petr Maceček/). Its repertoire is predominantly focused on original compositions of all band members, stretching its eclectic style towards variety of musical spaces, such as contemporary jazz, minimalism, grunge, free improvisation, avant-garde or sound-art. So far the band has toured the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Israel playing in different venues such as jazz clubs, festivals of contemporary music or site-specific events. Recently the band has recorded a debut album called Phi supported by the Slovak Arts Council and released by the Slovak label Hevhetia in April 2020.
