Taitan

Taitan (born Ernest Adu-Gyamfi) is a Ghanaian genre-blending artist whose sound fuses Afrobeats, Jama, and soulful storytelling rooted in real-life experiences. Born in Maakro-Kumasi and shaped by a childhood spent moving across Ghana due to his father’s job, Taitan was exposed early on to diverse musical influences from church choirs to street sounds.

Born on March 28, 1997, in the Ashanti Region, he began his education at Peniel Academy and later graduated from the Ghana Institute of Journalism in 2019. After years of flirting with the idea of making music full-time, he committed fully post-graduation, and hasn’t looked back since.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Burna Boy, Dbanj, Lucky Dube, Samini, Chris Brown, J.A. Adofo, and Oheneba Kissi, Taitan brings versatility and depth to every track. Whether it’s the infectious bounce of WO PRE, the heartfelt tribute MAMA, or the breakout hit GIRLFRIEND which Tulenkey featured him on, his music bridges genres with ease and emotion.

Taitan has worked with top Ghanaian acts like Quamina MP, Kofi Mole, and Tulenkey, and has earned co-signs from legends such as Reggie Rockstone, Shatta Wale, Bisa Kdei, and D-Black. His stage presence is equally undeniable, having performed at major festivals including Rapperholic, Detty Rave, Tidal Rave, and Teens Rave.
