Currently based in Denver, hardcore act Taking Alpha debuted in March 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado with a demo written & produced by Joseph Acosta (formerly of Restore All Vengeance). The original lineup included Joseph on guitar, Derek Bricker on drums, and Zachery Carey on vocals. The band performed throughout the summer, and Joshua Claudio was later added on bass.

Around this time, Taking Alpha began producing their EP titled Omega with Austin Sutton (Letters to the Living). Before the end of this EP’s production, Austin passed away. This left a void in the band, as he became a close friend with each member and helped shape their overall sound. Brody Strunk (also with Letters to the Living) helped Taking Alpha with further production of the EP.

After performing several shows both in and out of Colorado, Zachery left the band due to personal and creative differences. Soon after, Derek and Joshua both parted ways, leaving Joseph as the sole founding member. By fall 2017, Taking Alpha went on a hiatus that lasted for nearly two years.

With the release of Dead End, Taking Alpha is back and stronger than ever. Listen now!
