Talker Fields is an LA-based solo artist who sings, produces, and writes his own music. Born and raised in Fort Myers, Florida, Fields recalls in his childhood he would try to learn as many little things as he could to stave off the constant boredom of small-town Florida life, ultimately culminating in him learning many instruments at a young age... Or, as he puts it - learning how to be his own band. "There wasn't a whole lot around for me to do," Fields says behind laughs. "And I didn't feel like the other 'band kids' around me were into the same stuff as me or would get my ideas, so it just kinda happened naturally."
Prior to releasing music as a solo act, Talker Fields cut his teeth in the Washington, D.C. area, working as a jazz pianist, a reggae organist, a rock guitarist, and a back-up singer in multiple touring bands. Drawing from influences like Beck, Toro y Moi, and The Neptunes, Fields states that his art has only one goal: to bring the inside of his head to the outside world.
"At the very end of the day, it's really just this long process of trying to 'make real' this entire world that I see inside my head," says Fields. "I think when I was a kid I was just dying to show that to people. I felt then like I couldn't explain myself to people... But I guess what you hear is just me trying to explain it now."
