Tambor de Corda is a afro music group created in Salvador city. The group was developed by the album named (Gustavo Melo and the tambor de corda) also developed by the ethnomusicology Gustavo Melo with the intention of mixing afro and pop music in a cohesive way but without referring to this ideas already made on the scene on the Bahia Music.
Initially the name suggests The ideia of passing tones of the percussion instruments and the songs of African religions. A matrix to strings of the guitars over the years the group has been changing along with the formations, seeking to create a sound more and more distinctive from what was already been made on the scene afro-bahia music.
