Tami LaTrell is an American multi-platinum, GRAMMY-nominated songwriter and entrepreneur who’s written for artists such as Whitney Houston, Monica, Keyshia Cole, SWV, Rotimi and Country duo Love and Theft to name a few.
She inked her first music publishing deal with EMI Music Publishing in 2002 under the leadership of Big Jon Platt, and is now an established writer with Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
Aside from songwriting, she facilitates music publishing and copyright workshops online and at different universities. She speaks on issues such as outdated copyright laws, royalty collection, understanding music publishing, copyright and teaching creators how to protect their ownership rights. She is an advocate for protecting music and songwriter rights and has a Youtube channel sharing music business advice with over 670k+ views.
She was most recently featured In Ebony Magazine‘s Black Women To Know In PR, Tech & Digital Media, for her efforts in digital marketing and content management during her 9 year run at Radio One/Interactive One.
She branched off in 2017 as an entrepreneur and consultant specializing in music publishing administration for indie artists and unsigned writers and producers under her company The Mezzo Agency, based in Atlanta, GA.
