TAMPA, the 5-piece Los Angeles rock band, is like a gorgeously restored Beige 81’ Porsche 911. The paint glistens in the sunshine, you can smell that amazing broken-in leather mixed with some of those gasoline fumes you love, and you just want to hop in and fly up the PCH with the top down.
TAMPA’s lead single “Teen Age” has flourishes of Latin rhythms and post-punk, mixed with a late 70’s rock n roll spirit. TAMPA is the kind of band you want to have play at your backyard BBQ pool party.
The video for “Teen Age” captures their camaraderie and humor as it cuts between the guys performing and hanging out at different locations in Los Angeles. “We grabbed a DV and a VHS camera and hung out all day,” says Lucas, the lead singer. “We played some baseball. Stopped for tacos. But we also wanted to include all the cool, colorful murals that are so unique to LA., especially around Mariachi Plaza.”
