Formed in 2023, Tangent is an Orlando-based metallic hardcore band that blends technical and mathematical elements with themes of abstract beauty and startling chaos.
Composed of members from four Orlando bands, Tangent emerged when bassist Mike Krutak (Call In Dead) pitched the idea of a joint project with guitarist Zach Waite (Our Escape) after sharing the stage together. They soon joined forces with vocalist Matt Decker (Ginko Balboa) and drummer Al Serrano (Moat Cobra). Together, the group forged a relentless and aggressive sound fueled by emotional undercurrents, in the vein of musical iconoclasts like Converge, All Pigs Must Die, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Every Time I Die.
