Los Angeles-based artist Tanna Leone works in ethereal instrumentals and melodic, angular songwriting for a sound that explores the boundaries of mainstream rap. He was one of the earliest signees to Kendrick Lamar's pgLang imprint, working with the Def Jam-affiliated label for the release of his 2022 debut album Sleepy Soldier.

Leone began rapping as early as age 11, after being interested in poetry as a young child. He continued developing his skills as a teenager, and began recording his own songs and performing publicly while in high school. In 2022, after a few years of establishing his style, Leone signed on with pgLang, the label that Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free founded as an outlet for new talent. Leone released a few singles before the April 2022 release of his long-playing, genre-hopping debut Sleepy Soldier. In May of that year, Leone contributed to the song "Mr. Morale" from Lamar's fifth solo album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. The song was streamed millions of times in a matter of days, making it Leone's biggest exposure to date. ~ TiVo Staff, Rovi
