Tanya Oxalis is a singer-songwriter based in Hamburg, Germany. A lot of influence on her music comes from her post-Soviet background, being raised in the wild 90s and early 2000s. Growing up with political turmoils left and right, experiencing deterministic humor, self-reflection as a pastime, collective melancholia, and hope against all odds. Obsessed with words and meaning, she sings about her journey through relationships and chaos, and puts the emotions of herself and her characters into lyrics. The melody and lyrics are the centerpiece of her songs.
Tanya’s songs are focused on the poetic story, turns of phrase, seeking clever rhymes, and adding emotional melodic delivery on top of that. Influenced by her singer-songwriter friend circle, she wrote her first duet with the emerging artist Thirsty Gambler, her first professionally produced single, released in October 2025 under the umbrella of Bride Records.
Tanya’s favorite music genres to listen to are rock, jazz/blues, metal, musical theater, and indie. She enjoys variety in music, crossing over different genres and trying out other styles, and doesn’t want to stay within the confines of the same niche. For 3 years, she was a part of the metal band "Lameia" in parallel with her own songwriting. Her upcoming rock single, “Little Life,” was recorded with the band. Additionally, her dream and ambition is to write and produce a musical someday.
