Tanyon Sann Allison is a singer-songwriter whose mellow and warm indie folk encapsulates the wide open feel of his hometown, Amarillo, TX. Rooted in childhood upbringing of acappella hymnals, those cathedral-born harmonies can be heard succinctly in his 2017 debut album, The Year We Left Home, where his voice frequently soars to emotive heights over a polyphony of others. The album paces itself and works deliberately into your ears, mind and heart, settling into a groove and recalling the earlier works of Bon Iver, James Vincent McMorrow and Ben Howard.
Three quick intermittent years saw Allison become a father of two and a worship minister — as well as collaborate on several recording projects for his local church. Finally, with a newfound perspective, he’s set to release fresh material, carrying a more focused sound.
