Tasneem

Tasneem is a Canadian & American singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist. Their alternative sound is a consequence of a multi cultural upbringing and East African Roots. They came of age in Oklahoma growing up on Sting, Whitney Houston, Peter Gabriel, and Sade. In a world of sonic bait they are here to stay with more than a soul to bare; for here are uncomfortable truths wrapped in tenderness and perception, and where there is truth there is movement. They have performed at Carnegie Hall & Saturday Night Live, sang at the AKF Gala in NYC, Art Basel alongside the late Zaha Hadid & LA’s Grand Performances.They have shared stages with John Legend, Martha Wainright, Seun Kuti, Baloji, Florence and the Machine, Common and Chuck D. Tasneem’s lyrics were featured in the online exhibit Muslimah : A six word memoir. They are a voice among contemporary revolutionaries.
Tasneem has written and produced three solo EPs. You can hear their music on Logo Channel, Amazon On Demand, and independent films Troublemaker & Sparks. Tasneem produced this latest EP Just Before the World Ends, which was engineered and mixed by Timothy Miles (Solange’s saxophonist) and is out September 27, 2019 on iTunes and all streaming platforms.
