For as long as Taurri can remember, music and creativity have been driving forces in his life. His relationship with sound has been almost inseparable, thanks to his upbringing and his parents’ eclectic tastes. The bond was strengthened by the arrival of a toy drum kit into young Taurri’s life, with the guitar following soon after. It only took a few lessons of covering songs for him to realise that is not what he wanted to be doing, so he turned his attention to songwriting, before successfully trying his hand as an MC.
Fast forward a few years and Taurri met fellow MC, Lazy Eyez, who he would go on to form Pupils of the Clock with. They released their acclaimed debut album, TIMELESS, in January 2018 after both relocating to the musical hub of Bristol. Now two more years down the line and Taurri has released his debut solo album, which stands as his most personal music to date. Inspired by what was a very tough time in Taurri’s life, XIII is a tale of excess, loss and redemption, which will skew the parameters of what people consider UK hip hop to be.
