Born into a musical family, Taylor Waters was immersed in music from an early age, encouraged to sing, write, and explore piano and guitar. By 12, she was crafting her own songs and performing at local events in her hometown of Quesnel, BC. At 16, she began recording acoustic demos in a local studio, sharing them on SoundCloud.
In 2019, Taylor signed with an indie label, releasing her debut single, Little Sister, which earned 150K+ streams and landed on Spotify editorial playlists like Indie Pop Chill Out and Chilled Pop Hits. Patiently received airplay on CBC Radio, expanding her reach. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she caught the eye of Nael Atweh, Manager of Sabrina Claudio, and was invited to participate in an artist development program. This experience empowered her to release music independently. Her first self-released single, No Excuses, was featured on Spotify’s Indie Pop Chill Out playlist, marking a new chapter of artistic freedom.
After completing her Bachelors degree, Taylor performed live with her band across Vancouver, collaborating with Sofar Sounds for intimate sessions. In 2023, she relocated to Montreal, Quebec, where she continues to evolve as an artist. Her music, described as a mesmerizing blend of R&B and lullaby-pop, is characterized by powerful, unapologetic lyrics and a sound uniquely her own.
