Tchico's singing career began with the Bantous, after which he moved to Nigeria with the Waka Waka Band. In 1979, he released the classic Jeannot with Lolo Lolita. He moved to Paris in 1983, before the idea became fashionable, and formed a Congolese supergroup called Les Officiers of African Music.
