Ted Strunck

I started playing guitar when i was 8. My parents both played the piano and sang. They sang all the tunes from the great American Songbook. When I was 14, the Beatles arrived and gave me a simple structure for a song. I learned hundreds of pop tunes from Dylan to Bacharach, Billy Joel and Bob Lind. I started writing songs when I got to college. Got my first long term booking cuz of one of my originals. Kept playing local dinner clubs and bars. Never wanted to leave home and seek my fortunes elsewhere. 'Broadway Tunes' is a live recording of those gigs.
Eventually, I became a teacher and began writing musicals for children. We had a wonderful black box theater at the school and a superb baby grand piano. I had a most talented colleague and toether we produced 12 full blown productions. We recorded a cast cd for some and you listen to those songs on "Theater Playshop Songs".
I continue to write songs and enjoy learning and using Garage Band. CDBaby allows me to put out my music directly to the people. Still having fun.
