Tedua

Tedua is the alias of Mario Molinari, an Italian rapper and singer often credited with introducing trap and drill to Italian hip-hop. Born in 1991 in Genoa, he was partially raised in Milano. Both cities would prove instrumental in the furthering of his career, as he would establish valuable connections with other emerging rappers from their respective local scenes such as Vaz Té, Izi, Sfera Ebbasta, Ghali, Ernia, and Rkomi -- all of whom were members of a generation that would positively renovate the ranks of Italian hip-hop. Preceded by two mixtapes, Tedua made his official debut for Universal Music in 2017 with Orange County California, introducing a melancholic stream-of-consciousness flow that would become his trademark, mixing up raw autobiographical narratives with literary or film references. His 2018 sophomore effort, Mowgli, reached the top of the Italian charts, confirming his rising profile. While his career stalled momentarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he kept busy with singles, collaborations, and other projects. After several delays, Tedua finally managed to release La Divina Commedia in 2023, his most ambitious and successful album to date, and also -- and perhaps not coincidentally -- the most melodic and pop-oriented. His fifth mixtape, Ryan Ted, arrived in 2026, just in time to commemorate his first decade in the spotlight. ~ Mariano Prunes, Rovi
