Teeklef grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, and began learning music in the church. He quickly learned to sing and play multiple instruments, and ultimately began writing and producing his own music. With an understanding of Afrobeats, alongside American Hip-Hop and R&B, Teeklef emerged as a presence in the Lagos hip hop scene, placing 2nd in the Don Jazzy Enigma Contest and 1st in Eldee’s Top Talent-Producer Edition. At 18, he departed for America, living there until recently, when he began splitting time between the US, Lagos and London. He has released a series of LPs and singles along the way, including ‘Apart’, which he released with Jillionaire of Major Lazer and debuted on E-Bro’s Apple Music radio show, and his most recent single ‘Way Down’ which has received support on numerous Spotify playlists as well as garnering millions of views via the #WayDownDanceChallenge on TikTok. Teeklef’s latest effort - I ALREADY WON debuted at number 3 on the iTunes R&B charts. He is currently preparing to release a new Afrobeat EP in the Spring of 2022 as well as several more projects to come later in the year.
