Teeto started gaining notoriety in the underground rap and battle scene from the early to mid-late 2000s, which led him to South Africa to represent his country (Nigeria) in the Sprite Emcee Africa/Channel O battle rap event to face rappers from Kenya, Ghana, Angola, Tanzania and South Africa, where he emerged second runner up.
A hand full of singles and a flurry of mixtapes kept him going in the 2010s till 2019, when Teeto released an album with his protégée, Rae Slick, titled Lataaro. The word “Lataaro” is a Yoruba word that means “finally”.
In 2020, Teeto released his first solo album - Verses After Dark - the intended soundtrack for a late drive/nightlife with features from Niyola, Ozone, Show Dem Camp, Lord Vino, Agada, Rae Slick, Zamir, Moon on Earth, Vector & Dami Oniru.
In 2022, Teeto collaborated with the renowned producer-engineer-DJ, Bigfootinyourface, to release an artist-producer album, Culture of Honour, with features from Moon on Earth, Ghost (SDC) & Debbie Romeo, Chylde, A-Q, Sir Dauda & WanaWana.
Coming off this momentum into 2023, Teeto has been sharing freestyles over samples of Afrobeats classics across his socials. To close out the year, he features the afrobeats R&B singer, Simi, and rapper, Rukus, in this sultry Rap & Blues ballad titled "Do it right".
