By the time Temple Bellum described themselves as the greatest groove rock protagonists in Alloa, Scotland - they had already staked out an impressive claim on the title by virtue of being the sole protagonists of groove rock in Alloa. 4 men. 2 guitars, one drum kit, one bass guitar and three sets of lungs.
For Temple Bellum, the feel and the mood is just as important as the riffs and beats. Fat slices of grungy dirt pop are the order of the day.
Born in Autumn 2021 when crying freedom from the travails of national lock downs, the band got down to writing some bombastic diiirrrrrty anthems. Their first release the imaginatively titled Vol 1 ep, is a sign of things to come.
"Temple Bellum hits it hard with a crisp and lush alternative rock EP that blends trudgy riffs with catchy bends and hooks to go along with pulse pounding drums, loads of attitude and fresh rock swagger"
"delightfully grungy tones that properly hit the spot"
"infectiously explosive energy that snaps you to attention"
"If you’re on the hunt for groovy, heavy rock with just a touch of psychedelia, you’d struggle to find a band doing it better than Temple Bellum right now"
"Space Rat isn’t just a song; it’s an experience, a masterclass in how to deliver heavy, psychedelic-tinged rock with an abundance of swagger and a sound as colossal as a black hole."
"This is pure, "stank face"inducing goodness"
"breathtaking wall of noise"
