TEMPLE OF SORROW

This band was founded at the beginning of 1993 and was originally called Macrocardia. Its first public performance, played in grindcore style, was held in June of the same year. The founding members were Martin Ulmann (bass), Libor Šmakal (guitar), Petr Suk (vocals), and Tomáš Gengela (drums), who left the band shortly thereafter.

With a new drummer, Temple of Sorrow recorded its first studio recording in death/doom style, released as a split tape with their friendly group, Plastic Grave. In 1995, the band's activity came to an end.

The members started their own projects, such as Deadly Intention and Tanec okolo světa, in 1996. Temple of Sorrow was renewed as late as 2005 when the band began to prepare material for a new album called Intergalactic Brutes. This album was released in 2007, and listening to it, you can hear death metal with electronic influences. At that time, the human drummer was replaced by an artificial one, and the number of members decreased to three (Petr, Libor, and Martin).

However, after some successful gigs, the members decided to devote their time to more "useful" things, and the band became nonfunctional again. This remained true until the end of 2022. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band, the remaining members decided to return to the scene with 12 new songs, which were eternalized in 2025 on album "Sometimes".
