Teniak

Teniak is the Drum and Bass project of Finnish musician Viktor Hurskainen. After a having been active in music for over 20 years through various band projects, 6 years of music studies and degrees in London, composing for film and media plus various other projects, the Teniak project was born as a way to retain complete creative freedom and full control over all aspects of production.


Vik’s style fuses massive bass sounds, evolving textures and snappy rhythmical work through ever-changing, intricate and engaging arrangements that combine musicality, excitement, playfulness and nose-wrinkling stank. 
Through a mix of influences ranging from jazz fusion and film music to groovy electronica and filthy neurofunk, Vik blends sounds and textures in original ways while retaining a modern aesthetic.


Since its launch in 2021, Teniak has had releases on renowned labels like Blackout Music and ProgRAM, and Vik’s music has been played at European clubs and festivals like Let It Roll and Darkshire by big names of the scene such as Black Sun Empire and Sinister Souls. Guest-mixes, placements on international radio shows and podcasts plus features on Beatport’s DnB HypeTop100 as well as Spotify’s editorial playlists have further supported the music.
