In the years before <a href="spotify:artist:7poykXwi0DEJb7KTZrolZ9" data-name="Masks Phantoms">Masks Phantoms</a>, Stephen Evins, Adam King, and Daryl Waits of <a href="spotify:artist:1wQQC4TjJt90mXIuh5FLhY" data-name="Moron Parade">Moron Parade</a> recorded two albums under the name Terzetto Moron.
The first, recorded in a below-street-level apartment in Boston, Massachusetts, was completed in time for the holiday season of 2001. It was meant as a hopeful, bright light during a surreal time of intense national anxiety, when everyone was certain that Armageddon was just another jumbo jet or anthrax-filled envelope away.
The second record, Sleep Hat (so named after John Darnielle of <a href="spotify:artist:3hyGGjxu73JuzBa757H6R5" data-name="The Mountain Goats">The Mountain Goats</a> wrote that Moron Parade should change their name to “The Hats” in a review of the album <a href="spotify:album:16MmZPM4sqKRUFJCM1YsvD" data-name="Heat Slap">Heat Slap</a>), was recorded in the rainy, gray depression of 2002 Portland, Oregon, with its moss and fog and cold and isolation.
Two albums, two places, two points in time. Three friends. Terzetto Moron.
