Tevfik Kulak

Tevfik Kulak is undoubtedly one of the world's leading trumpet players. He is also a consummate all round musician, arranger and composer.
His musical talent became apparent when as a small child he emerged as an accomplished pianist at the 9 Eylul University Conservatuary. Talent undisputed, the conservatory recommended he learn trumpet due to his ideal physical disposition. Tevfik studied for a further 10 years and by the tender age of 17 he won a permanent position with Izmir State Symphony Orchestra.
During this time the young musician rapidly gained significant experience playing across continents with the orchestra and many internationally acclaimed artists including Luciano Paverotti, Jose Carreras, Azizah Mustafazadeh, Monserat Cabelle and George Zamfir. Major tours in Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Canada and most of Europe were undertaken during this time.
Within 10 years Tevfik Kulak had joined the acclaimed Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, and also regularly appeared with the İstanbul Superbigband, and the famous Trt Jazz Orchestra with whom he recorded over 90 live recordings with a variety of leading jazz musicians. He has also appeared with Whitney Heuston, Sarah Brightman, Diana Ross andDianne Reeves.
Tevfik continues to work with the izmir state symphony orchestra along with his busy recording schedule working with various artists, composing, producing and arranging film scores, jazz popular and classical albums in his own studio.
