Sacramento's Evan Schneider named his drum'n'bass project Tha Fruitbat for two reasons. He's a vegetarian ("fruit") and he's nocturnal ("bat"). Besides playing bass in an industrial band and working as one-half of the DJ duo Hysterisis Loop, Tha Fruitbat is a member of the Command Collective, a group that has been active in increasing Sacramento's awareness of electronic music.
