Thabo Getsome

A mainstay on the Berlin underground circuit, Nils Thabo Gelfort, aka Thabo Getsome, has over the past 11 years built a stellar reputation as a promoter, seasoned DJ and prolific producer. The Berlin born and bred artist has become synonymous with the soulful yet groovy house he champions in the booth and the studio, which is marked by throbbing basslines, energetic percussions and feel-good vibes.

Thabo Getsome spent his formative years listening to hip hop and reggae – something that still manifests in his DJ sets and productions. After discovering electronic music in 2001, the German artist immersed himself in the dance music scene. And soon he was promoting his first raves under the label Remain Raw at venues like Cookies or Tape Club in 2007.

After a few years spent honing his sound and finding his groove, he quickly started DJing regularly, playing Berlin clubs like Watergate, IPSE and Prince Charles. Internationally, he’s played HYTE, Epizode Festival, Space Ibiza, Amsterdam Dance Event and more.

The accomplished Berlin DJ is a prolific producer, too. After first teaming up with Mat.Joe for his 2014 debut EP, Sweaty Ice, he went on to release on imprints like DFTD, Lapsus, Clap Your Hands, and Cacao, earning praise from stalwarts like Carl Craig, DJ Sneak, Robert Owens, LTJ Bukem, Jovonn, and Shadow Child along the way.
