Thai Sounders–the formidable front man of Hmong band ‘The Sounders’– is finally releasing a solo project!

Son of Chong Cha Thao and Se Xiong Thao, Thai was born in Laos. After his father’s passing at just aged 5, Thai left Laos with his mother to the United States. Thai’s initial introduction to music would not be until the 4th grade, when he was first given a guitar. He did not know however that this instrument would eventually become his best friend. Growing more confident, by the 7th grade, Thai had written his first song. Consumed by music, Thai would walk home from lunch every day just to have an opportunity to play!

Thai moved to California in 1988, quickly becoming a recognized musician in the area. By 1992, ‘The Sounders’ was formed, Thai responsible for the lead vocals and writing songs. Since then, he has captivated a large fan base all over the world, a byproduct of his passion to help others through music.

Away from the spotlight, Thai is also an accomplished entrepreneur, being self-employed for the last 18 years. Besides music, Thai loves traveling, photography and cars. Despite his success away from the studio, Thai has felt that something was still missing from his music career; an opportunity to unplug his music and play it in its rawest form.

Thai is ready to spread more life and positivity than even under his new solo project that seeks to combine his passion for music and travel!
