Nathaniel “Thani” Abuhamad is bought back from worthlessness and destruction. He prides himself on being under the employ of his Father, the King of the universe as a disciple, minister, and artist.
God has sustained Thani through multiple romantic heartbreaks, dropping out of college three times, depression and anxiety, Chronic Lyme disease, being an international missionary, and addiction recovery. And those are just some of his blessings!
In 2016, in light of disabling pain and illness, Thani attempted suicide and failed three times in the same night because of God’s words in the gospels. Jesus’ words in Matthew 25 about the parable of the talents nagged at him unceasingly into the late hours of the night. The Spirit taught him over the next few months that although his eternal position was irrevocably secure, his eternal condition (intimacy with God, rewards, etc.) was at risk. He was being called by the Spirit to make valuable use of his talents, and those talents, Thani realized, were his time, gifts, and opportunities. He felt the weight of faithfulness borne on his conscience.
From that point on, he decided that he was going to pursue God relentlessly despite the inevitable suffering. He pursues Him in both friendship and obedience—using his creative gifts to deepen his own relationship with God and serve Him by also helping others to deepen theirs.
