The Icelandic band ÞAU is known for its original music and exciting live performances. The artists Rakel Björk Björnsdóttir and Garðar Borgþórsson form this authentic and noteworthy Icelandic duo that is best described as an alternative rock band that likes to have fun and share musical moments with nice people.

ÞAU's music is inspired by Icelandic poems and culture but the band's main theme revolves around making new music with lyrics from Icelandic poetry. Adventures come to life and the past meets the present in melodies with rock, pop, jazz and blues vibes. ÞAU has released two albums. The first album "ÞAU taka Vestfirði" includes 12 original songs by ÞAU with poetic lyrics originated from the Westfjords of Iceland. The band's second album "ÞAU taka Norðurland" shines a light on poets from the Northern part of Iceland with a special focus on female poets.

Last three years the band has held successful concert tours in Iceland during summer time. As well as performing in the Reykjavík area all year around. Next up is a grand concert at Hof in Akureyri on April 12th. Tickets on tix.
