The Adored

The Adored feature Ryan (vocals), Nat (drums), Max (bass), and Drew (guitar). Named in part for the <a href="spotify:artist:1lYT0A0LV5DUfxr6doRP3d">Stone Roses</a> classic "I Wanna Be Adored," the stylish Los Angeles foursome delivers a spunky Britpop-influenced sound with sassy post-punk layers, for each member shares a fondness for <a href="spotify:artist:3RGLhK1IP9jnYFH4BRFJBS">the Clash</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:66U6cJ3kDBat0jS42Jkp9q">the Jam</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3yY2gUcIsjMr8hjo51PoJ8">the Smiths</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:2DxlS3lTLFIq70S7ap5H3y">Buzzcocks</a>. Prior to forming the Adored in 2002, Ryan and Nat were mainstays on the hardcore scene in northern California. Max and Drew met as students in Boston while traveling around Europe. Once in L.A., they became fast friends and began playing with other post-punk-influenced acts such as <a href="spotify:artist:172GKuwc6NQPqUPfFa9UEv">the Blood Arm</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1olZcNG9rq4RGVVd69Tj4e">Ashbury</a>. In 2004, the Adored made their V2 debut with a self-titled EP release. The five-song set was produced by Dave Trumfio (<a href="spotify:artist:4bYZze0oZxoHmdHEsbTMFw">Koufax</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3hozsZ9hqNq7CoBGYNlFTz">OK Go</a>, the Sun), and <a href="spotify:artist:2DxlS3lTLFIq70S7ap5H3y">Buzzcocks</a>' <a href="spotify:artist:7r2lG8Ui6vGHAgsKlE8Hd8">Pete Shelley</a> also made an appearance. Select shows with <a href="spotify:artist:0sHeX8oQ6o7xic3wMf4NBU">Supergrass</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2jgPkn6LuUazBoBk6vvjh5">the Zombies</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0JzkAORtxJjXk3XDKvIUcb">Ima Robot</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:52K4ArhA4OgMO7AsyEgqCT">Bow Wow Wow</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3TBfn8PtXr42OrTPaoC3E8">the Futureheads</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:5DZBnxCYzs32O2bbqK8KNg">Les Savy Fav</a> followed into 2005.
