“The Age of Flight” is the brainchild of Ritchie Rubini, drummer of the 90s alt-rock band “The Caulfields” (A&M Records), focusing on creating vibrant soundscapes of retro-futuristic space music. Through his debut record, The Age of Flight, the multi-instrumentalist is forging new ground for his already extensive career, in which he has performed on many indie and major label records. This debut record features 10 ambient-pop experimental instrumentals which range in atmospheric expressions and production.
“The Age of Flight compositions echo the cinema-like soundscapes of Brian Eno, Thomas Newman, and Hans Zimmer - three sonic reference-points that help triangulate the territories in which “The Age of Flight” glides, soars, and explores. The Age of Flight is an apt name for a collection of ambient, electronic songs that weave transportive sonic textures with retro-futuristic synth tones.”
