The Anonymous

Visionary Los Angeles based hip-hop crew The Anonymous is made up of <a href="spotify:artist:1tcdKt6wl7BOQXl015or9n" data-name="Able">Able</a> (emcee), <a href="spotify:artist:4mLnoJV0RNcjlxNqd3q16O" data-name="Vesuveo">Vesuveo</a> (emcee/producer), <a href="spotify:artist:3XwTHHTbgJGFqIGtnvZUWe" data-name="Zinndeadly">Zinndeadly</a> (producer), and <a href="spotify:artist:5j3iObqG7iT7utWpTTmC7F" data-name="DJ Drez">DJ Drez</a> (scratches), whose razor-sharp rhymes, dark, atmospheric beats, and wizard-like turntable techniques made them stalwarts of the late 90s West Coast underground scene. Respected for their artistic integrity, unique sound, and conscious lyrics, they released 4 albums from 1995 to 1999 and scored two Top 10 hits including their underground classic “Green and Gold” featuring <a href="spotify:artist:7dGJo4pcD2V6oG8kP0tJRR" data-name="Eminem">Eminem</a> and the double-sided posse cut “Dr. EZ&#39;s Cool Fantastic” featuring a who&#39;s who of left coast emcees, including <a href="spotify:artist:1MYkU0PmvFtLiCOYxdQua7" data-name="The Grouch">The Grouch</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0E4UA1bttJjSFNgAkLyQuo" data-name="Living Legends">Living Legends</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4cMqpXup2gpYpeQFMZkLYD" data-name="Rakaa">Rakaa</a> of <a href="spotify:artist:56OMwqr8qaLIRH4ZrvvdXq" data-name="Dilated Peoples">Dilated Peoples</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6vmvGQsLNu2WBkSshrt6cw" data-name="AWOL One">AWOL One</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:3DvPqo8458pRmavTwSGxo7" data-name="Marti Nikko">Marti Nikko</a> among others while sharing the stage with the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:2gINJ8xw86xawPyGvx1bla" data-name="KRS-One">KRS-One</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:22282KfMxDo2PMjnBc82I4" data-name="Biz Markie">Biz Markie</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1yxSLGMDHlW21z4YXirZDS" data-name="Black Eyed Peas">Black Eyed Peas</a>, and Rock Steady Crew.

A trailblazing group with diverse influences, The Anonymous formed in Philadelphia when Cleveland-born Zinndeadly and native New Yorker Vesuveo met Bay Area emcee Able. They immediately started recording what would become their debut Swells of Abstract LP, released in 1995 after relocating to Los Angeles. In &#39;96, they dropped Weep No More, including the B-side “Backstreet Gods” featuring <a href="spotify:artist:4743DlrFCsAlAV4N26Kdgh" data-name="Cut Chemist">Cut Chemist</a> of <a href="spotify:artist:6wFId9Jhuf9AKVzWboOj2B" data-name="Jurassic 5">Jurassic 5</a>. That year, they met West Coast veteran DJ Drez at a late night rave and finally the crew was complete. Two years later came their seminal Green and Gold LP and then Dedicated in 1999.
