The Artist Life was a Pop Punk band from Toronto, Canada. The band started in late 2005 with core members Ian Blackwood taking on frontman duties and Dean Richards helping steer the helm with his strong songwriting & pop-sensibility. In early 2007 TAL added Drummer Jake Parsonson and Bassist Chuck Leach. After touring Canada a number of times and coverage in Alternative Press Magazine, the band signed with Underground Operations and release their second EP 'Let's Start A Riot.' The EP garnered the band industry recognition, three acclaimed music videos and a performance on MTV's LIVE. In late 2009 Leach decided it was time to hang-up the bass guitar and move on. After a handful of bass player substitutes The Artist Life added multi-instrumentalist Justin Zoltek just before releasing their full length album titled 'Impossible' in the spring of 2011. The album quickly gained a following whilst TAL toured the USA and Canada. In the winter of 2011 Blackwood announced his exit from the band and it was decided the following Spring, March 2012 would be the final The Artist Life show ever.
