The Aurora

Officially formed in October 2023, the name 'The Aurora' was coined by JM Takiang and was supposedly temporary. It is simply inspired from the "Aurora Borealis" or the Northern Lights—admiring the ethereal beauty of the natural light display from the night skies. We were also locally known for our old band name called 'Vénoire' (ven-yu-wa-rey) but later on decided to use the popularized name instead as it is easy to remember and pronounce.

The Aurora is an experimental independent pop/rock band all the way from Misamis Oriental, Philippines. It started as a three-piece band, but now it is a five-piece which consists of members:
JM Takiang as the Lead Vocalist;
Nas Juliada as the Lead Guitarist;
Angelo Dequino as the Bassist;
Carl Lanzaderas as the Keyboardist; and
James Gablinez as the band's Drummer.

Together, we delve into new heights of OPM Pop by sharing our creations to people—soulfully connecting through our songs—just as how we try to connect ourselves beyond the deep aspects of the Aurora Borealis' captivating colors which represent our emotions. Igniting songs to the skies, lighting it up, and be mesmerized.
