The Autumn Stones

Originally formed in 2009 by Ciaran Megahey (vocals, guitar); The Autumn Stones are a 5-piece band based in Toronto whose sound can be described as an amalgam of dream pop and post punk. The band currently features Dan Dervaitis (guitar, keys), Marcus Tamm (bass) and Raymond Cara (drums). Gary Butler also played sax in the band from 2012-2018 and is featured on both their sophomore album Escapists (2015) and their latest album Emperor Twilight (2018). Ciaran was the sole songwriter in the band before Dervaitis joined in 2016 co-writing 5 of the 8 songs on Emperor Twilight. The new album recorded by Andy Magoffin at his House of Miracles studio finds the band charting a new path introducing organ and keys to their sound and placing less emphasis on horns. Ciaran chose to work with Andy based on his love of The Hidden Camera's 2003 album The Smell of Our Own which Magoffin also recorded and co-produced.

Their power pop single Mandatory Love was featured as KEXP's song of the day in June of 2018. In November of the same year the band released companion EP Into the Light.

The Autumn Stones are currently developing material for their 4th album with plans of a 2022 release.
