Cornwall 4-piece The Beutons have been peddling their fine-crafted musical pasties since May 2010. Hook-ridden original songs; delivered in their 'own inimitable way,' have seen them grow into one of most popular live bands on the Cornish scene and beyond.
Band was formed in 2010 by Jon Mallet (drums), Andy Bellis (vocals/guitar) and <a href="spotify:artist:4kPemeonzSV50QLRK8TP81" data-name="Trevor Hambidge">Trevor Hambidge</a> (bass/vocals), who met at a local Open Mic night in Perranporth. The line-up was completed in 2011 by Dan Bain (lead guitar). In 2012, Jon Mallet left the group and Darren Curgenven joined as drummer. The band's popularity grew quickly in the local scene, playing a dynamic, energetic set mixing quirky and classic hits from the 50s to modern indie, alongside an ever growing collection of original songs.
The band were recognised as Best Indie Band by West Briton/What's On Cornwall and Cornish Guardian in 2012 and 2013, earning rave reviews for their high energy live performances and charisma.
In December 2012, they went to the studio to work with legendary producer John Cornfield (Oasis, Muse, Supergrass, Razorlight) on their first proper EP release "<a href="spotify:album:2nHDYZOKc98g78ZBiMQitW" data-name="I Wasn't Asked And I Don't Want It">I Wasn't Asked And I Don't Want It</a>" which arrived to much fanfare in March 2013. The band went on a UK tour that Spring playing across the South West, London, Midlands and at the yearly industry showcase "Focus Wales" festival. The band played with Reef, supported Dodgy and earned festival slots at Boardmasters, Maker Festival, Little Orchard and others.
