The Beverly Chills, Twiggy Hunter & Nick Jones, formed in the Hollywood Hills in the U.S summer of 2015. Upon their return home, the Aussie-bred brat punk two-piece wrote, recorded and mixed their self-titled debut album in Nick’s living room in just under 3 weeks.
They released their debut album independently in late 2015, which Tone Deaf described as “manic surf punk”. After the album was released the band toured in support of Northeast Party House, Dune Rats, These New South Whales and Gooch Palms.
The following year, they continued playing shows and writing, which led to the EP “Leave Me Hanging”, released on Los Angeles label Sick City Records in 2017. Recorded in LA, Melbourne and Adelaide, the EP features Steel Panther drummer Stix Zadinia on drums.
The break out track from ‘Leave Me Hanging’ was ‘Loner’, which received airplay on Triple J and BBC Radio 1, and saw the duo support Ocean Grove on their national tour. ‘Loner’ was picked by Budweiser as the soundtrack for their Budweiser Garage online promotion, as well as by Volley Shoes for their “F**k Y*u” online ad campaign.
Ticketmaster labelled the band “ones to watch in 2018” on their blog, and Hysteria Mag included the guys in their “10 bands to keep tabs on” for 2018.
The Beverly Chills new single No Friends, was released in July 2018.
