The Blackcloud Syndicate is the current evolution of long-running Toronto metal band, Absolute Zero which has existed in one form or another for about 35 years. Officially debuting under the new name on June 6th, 2006 (because a little Satan is good for you), the Syndicate has always marched to their own war drums, mixing elements of thrash, hardcore, death and classic metal into an evil brew of heaviness that fights back against the over-processed and generic material that dominates today's metal landscape.
Having shared the stage with artists as varied as <a href="spotify:artist:0NmYchKQ8JIR9QHYJA0FRe" data-name="Overkill">Overkill</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6SER9tY2pDIDVWVf5Ql97B" data-name="Prong">Prong</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:56F64pmwSSCcmS1CxAnPk8" data-name="Pro-Pain">Pro-Pain</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2N1l5VEy6whDRqvnUElnau" data-name="Blaze Bayley">Blaze Bayley</a> (ex-Iron Maiden), the band has taken an extended hiatus from live performances to complete work on their most ambitious project ever- a seventeen-track double album (plus an additional four bonus tracks available with purchase only). The first sample of new material and first recorded track with new vocalist Mat Findlay, a non-final mix of "The Debt is Due", was made available in December, 2022 with the finished product targeting a 2023.... uh.... 2024 release.
