Hailing from Oldham, The Boundary Parkas rock band formed in 2024 by local lads and lifelong Oldham Football and Oldham Rugby fans Kieran McMahon, Harry Lavin, Luke O’Reilly, and Charlie Whittaker. The group first gained attention with their hit for Oldham RLFC, recorded alongside comedy icon <a href="spotify:artist:0nMD9ARUgcuOygczAxq7EX" data-name="Tommy Cannon">Tommy Cannon</a> of world famous comedy duo <a href="spotify:artist:494f9zHLFnJR8bCcq4Lj9b" data-name="CANNON AND BALL">CANNON AND BALL</a>, helping soundtrack the club’s promotion-winning campaign.
Now returning with “Life a Blue,” The Official Road to Wembley song for Oldham Athletic, an anthem celebrating Latics' rich history and hopeful future. The Parkas fuse storytelling, local pride with contemporary and traditional instrumentation. The single features pennywhistle melodies by Andy Mack, a nod to Oldham’s folk roots through the legacy of Larry Kearns of the Oldham Tinkers, and includes contributions from <a href="spotify:artist:7Lf3LOZp3U3u2f6cWMd3AH" data-name="Paul Weller">Paul Weller</a> collaborator <a href="spotify:artist:5ZW5lFCzjTrnFYxua7ZGrj" data-name="Jake Fletcher">Jake Fletcher</a>, Latics owner Frank Rothwell and The Athletico's.
