The Brockstars are the first and only intergalactically-acclaimed punk-rock band. As one extraterrestrial critic commented, “Gleep zorp bloog,” which roughly translates to “how did you get in my house.”
The Brockstars are God’s second favorite band, consisting of members Jake DeVol (lead vocals), Joseph Drury (secondary vocals/guitar), Jair Mobley (secondary vocals/guitar), Andrew Davis (bass), and Andrew Walsh (drums/useless). They founded their roots at Cedarville University during the beginning of their second semester at the school. Pulling heavily from pop-punk/rock influences such as Green Day, All Time Low, and blink-182, they began by releasing two singles that pay homage to the themes and instrumentation used by those bands, while crafting lyrics entirely their own and often with a humorous spin. They spent their first year at Cedarville University in the basement level of their dorm hall, ending up there by accident. They grew close quickly and became known as the Basement Boys, which was the reasoning for their sarcastic description in their first single, Welcome to the Basement. They then parodied the strict(ish) rules of living at a Baptist university in their satirical second single, Irrelevant. They have now released their self-produced freshman album, Ode to Losers. The members of The Brockstars continue to work hard in order to deliver high quality music that can resonate with all people, and perfect their musical craft together.
