The Canary proudly announce their long-awaited debut album, HEAVEN IN PHILADELPHIA, set for release on January 30, 2026, via Future Asian Music (FAM) under the 88rising umbrella. Produced in collaboration with Newlight Records, the album marks the band’s first full-length release and a defining milestone, presenting their most confident, imaginative, and forward-looking work to date.
As their most ambitious project to date, HEAVEN IN PHILADELPHIA brings together ideas developed across ten carefully crafted tracks. The album reflects the shared vision of the member lineup: Virna Susanti (vocals), Dyandra Anjani (guitar & vox), Adinda Putri (keys & synth), Nalva Thariq (guitar & vox), Ardi Bagus (drums), Yohanes P Waruwu (bass) and builds upon the momentum of their 2023 Runaway EP.
Shaped by an extensive run of live performances across Bekasi and Jakarta alongside artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:3jAIDtaFDAHtuP5qU6Hgny" data-name="Danilla">Danilla</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:45KFMEB3QETjFvFME86vYO" data-name="Sunwich">Sunwich</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:29sYgtFF2sRAVbzZ64rbkB" data-name="Skastra">Skastra</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:5L3RqiyBaI1VDhbNkzhdjc" data-name="White Chorus">White Chorus</a>, the album evolved through internal creative dialogue, resulting in a cohesive, narrative-driven body of work designed to flow seamlessly from start to finish.
Following their university graduations, the band continued to grow individually and collectively, pushing creative boundaries through evolving chord progressions, unconventional textures, string arrangements, and layered percussion. Lyrically, the album draws inspiration from the atmosphere of Philadelphia—particularly Kensington and Alleghany Avenue.
