The Candyflowers are an American rock production duo, Jesse Quigley and Kail Swensen. Their music is often compared to MGMT, The Strokes, The Shins, and Radiohead. The duo met in high school jazz band in 2008 and have been creating music together ever since. Jesse and Kailen create unique, interwoven beats and melodies often manifested through guitars, synths, and handcrafted vocal melodies, with lyrics meant to inspire and ignite emotive responses. They specialize in upbeat, mid-tempo tracks that make you want to move. Career highlights include Jesse playing bass for Shayhan, live on KEXP’s Street Sounds. Kail has been in numerous bands, most notably and currently the bass player for Colorworks, has an audio engineering degree from Hawaii, and has created music for video games. In 2018, Jesse and Kail released ‘The Monroe EP’, under the name Amber Lights, a four song post-hardcore body of music which was featured on Divide & Conquer’s Weekly Roundup.
