The Carbons were forged during one of the worst wildfire seasons British Columbia has ever seen. The day of their first show, the sky was apocalyptic orange and ash was raining down from the sky. After the ash settled, they released a notorious band photo half-submerged under water along with two live videos filmed inside a wine cellar. They gained momentum quickly and in spring 2018 they released their debut LP <a href="spotify:album:6nv3BLDLRBz0b4qLI79IJO" data-name="August Ash">August Ash</a>.
Later that year they produced three singles with Juno-nominee (<a href="spotify:artist:5CPxrqCStgt6AfI4fLiedH" data-name="The Glorious Sons">The Glorious Sons</a>) John-Angus MacDonald of <a href="spotify:artist:2mCd5QO8EUB5rmbGUbCrTJ" data-name="The Trews">The Trews</a> and the success of their first release <a href="spotify:album:1oMH21LXBkXPT9RWWb0ImW" data-name="Black Mirror">Black Mirror</a> later earned them an international tour in Australia.
They were recently featured on CBC The National and Global News after converting a minibus into a mobile stage. After a successful summer in BC with Carol (the bus) they took her on tour through Canada and performed 52 times in 26 days. Upon their return they finished their long-awaited sophomore album and have now officially released SHALLOW AND DEEP.
The trio has now shared the stage with acts such as <a href="spotify:artist:1pRaG81GsVtaTBuVSpldt2" data-name="Pop Evil">Pop Evil</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5VPCIIfZPK8KPsgz4jmOEC" data-name="The Blue Stones">The Blue Stones</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:1ahN3WDDULKaAQs7ZUrGNP" data-name="Sloan">Sloan</a>. Follow them on Instagram or TikTok for the full story.
Off-stage, The Carbons can be found shredding some gnar, ripping through waves, and revving motorcycles through the Canadian Rockies. They often end the day with a craft beer in hand, a movie quote battle and depending on the number of beers, a lengthy conversation about current world issues.
