The Cassini Projekt is a one man band that was set up by Alex McDonnell to create rock music without boundaries, namely experimenting with a wide variety of genres but filtered through a particular style enamoured with the grandiose, irrational and esoteric. Alex uses a lot of harmonisation in his guitar and vocal lines as he is heavily influenced by Queen with all their resplendent pomp and bombast,
characteristics that he admires and incorporates into his own music. Other influences on TCP include Opeth, Meshuggah, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Radiohead and The Mars Volta. FThe Cassini Projekt has been played on Phantom FM (an Irish national radio station), Only Rock Radio, Hard Rock Hell, North Herts Rocks (a UK based radio station), Lonely Oak Radio, WIGWAM Radio, ISX Radio and Code Zero Radio in addition to other stations. TCP has also had videos played on Paradigm Shift and Truth Music Directory which were available on Sky TV. Bear McCreary (composer for Battlestar Galactica and Outlander) is also a fan of TCP’s cover of his magnificent composition Prelude to War. Just recently TCP won Music Coin’s artist of the week. Currently TCP is putting together a professionally recorded album to be released this year. Take It All and Roadwave feature on this album
