The Casual Brothers

Let’s go back to the end of the 90’s. There were a lot of unwritten rules for how hiphop should sound and be. Then the idea came to Cosmic and <a href="spotify:artist:2Wqm0Ny4QfBTGGW2bTwDJi" data-name="Embee">Embee</a> from <a href="spotify:artist:53bap4fIHfhPGNrU4STPpe" data-name="Looptroop Rockers">Looptroop Rockers</a> to start a side project that was a reaction to the norm. They started the duo The Casual Brothers that would bring a more relaxed attitude to the genre.

2001 they released the highly appreciated <a href="spotify:album:30AVVjiL12BfRcueKSLshP" data-name="The Casual Brothers">The Casual Brothers</a> and two years after that came the follow-up EP called <a href="spotify:album:71jAZe6PMIcaiW3l1KxUX1" data-name="Customer's Choice EP">Customer's Choice EP</a>.

Then the brothers were quiet for a number of years but during spring 2016 the duo woke up from hibernation. They went into Embee’s studio The Wax Cabinet and started from scratch with a totally new sound landscape based on improvisation and feeling. The first taste of all this was released in the form of the single <a href="spotify:album:5IuHhRsgG9jOStVWhJj4d6" data-name="Melange">Melange</a> featuring <a href="spotify:artist:2bhXhHd607n9Ax6GhaNbPD" data-name="Ayla">Ayla</a>.
A relaxed and soulful hiphop with a scent of jazz. They followed up the single with the EP <a href="spotify:album:0Zg83MoAxOUFzmmv1lovWT" data-name="Grey">Grey</a>.

2017, as a part of Looptroop Rockers’ 25 years anniversary campaign, they released two more tracks. <a href="spotify:album:1DeDinoxpQ9bvNc28NbC8h" data-name="Ha Ha (That's Right)">Ha Ha (That's Right)</a> featuring swedish underground rappers <a href="spotify:artist:5HhJ4EfjcISuAIPnbz9B3c" data-name="Erk">Erk</a> and Käp from the group <a href="spotify:artist:4dq4bHaTzqLMpRwGJFuuxy" data-name="Trainspotters">Trainspotters</a> and the up and coming rapper <a href="spotify:artist:2ScksBbsbYDd8cobMM9XUx" data-name="MC Hans">MC Hans</a> from <a href="spotify:artist:4PGeN6zmWyydG0HMSbs0AN" data-name="Eboniks">Eboniks</a>. Also the strong track <a href="spotify:album:5VrORgifhs3FBWRovaRo7X" data-name="Burn">Burn</a> was released during this LTR celebration. The track features <a href="spotify:artist:6OwOuTjrLVrlMH1nxxIjbT" data-name="Elzhi">Elzhi</a> from Detroit who have a past in the legendary group <a href="spotify:artist:1020a42xVklY6c56imNcaa" data-name="Slum Village">Slum Village</a>.
