The Cherry Tree is a new project from Boston musicians previously known as St. Nothing - songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Marco Lawrence, cellist Jenna Calabro, producer Felix Nicholson, and harpist Maria Rindenello-Spraker. In 2014-2015, the group had notable appearances at Boston Calling Music Festival, SXSW, and at many local Boston venues opening for national touring acts, and were recognized by the Boston Globe as a promising new act, who called their 2015 EP one of the best local releases of the year. St. Nothing was also recognized with a 2014 Electronic Artist of the Year award at the Boston Music Awards.
Now, the musicians are back with a new EP titled Healing, which brings a more mature sound of the music of St. Nothing. The EP, written and recorded in a Cambridge, MA bedroom in the summer of 2019 while Lawrence was home with an unknown illness, is comprised of four optimistic and atmospheric synthpop ballads built from electronic loops, reaching cello melodies and sparkling harp parts. Healing EP released August 14th, 2020, and two visuals by Lawrence and St. Nothing guitarist Sophia Carreras are available now.
