Originally formed as <a href="spotify:artist:4uQp2ntIsYPttEzd4pON00" data-name="Joe and the Chicken Heads">Joe and the Chicken Heads</a> in 1993, the band released 2 homemade cassettes in 1994 before simplifying the name to <a href="spotify:artist:5q9Dqg145yzgLELFDnH5XJ" data-name="The Chicken Heads">The Chicken Heads</a>. The Chicken Heads released two more homemade cassette albums, <a href="spotify:album:7Hh1nNcknQUEGqxsNn1VXX" data-name="Divine Indigestion">Divine Indigestion</a> in 1995, and Bird Brains in 1996. After recording in a studio for the first time for Vegas Records, the label brought back the name, Joe and the Chicken Heads, which was used until 2004, when they become the <a href="spotify:artist:5B1beGo4vI8hCBCh3xXeQF" data-name="Radioactive Chicken Heads">Radioactive Chicken Heads</a>.
